Happy New Years!

Well, we went to the dr. this morning and I have dilated to a 3! Yeah! He wanted to get me in today or tomorrow, but the NICU was full of babies, so if I delivered, they would have to leave me there and take the babies away to different hospital. He has me holding on until Friday! That's right, an official date (assuming I make it that far!) We check in at 4 in the morning and surgery is at 6! YEAH! We will post pictures and updates as soon as things settle! Thanks and we hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!

The fun continues.....

The boys tell Santa what they want for Christmas......

Christmas is almost here!!!

Well, we had another fun evening of painting. We figured since I have this large canvas and Scotty has the artistic talents, we might as well make use of it!!

Week 31

Time for another update and beautiful picture! We went to the Dr. yesterday morning and everything still looks great. Baby A is 4 lbs. 12 oz. and is head down ready to come out. Baby B is 4 lbs. 5 oz. and although is the smallest baby, also has the biggest head. Baby C is 4 lbs. 10 oz. and starting to explore my rib cage area. Really pleasant. They are growing in the 75th percentile, which is great. He asked if I was having any major discomfort and I said my only problem was the constant feeling that my groin muscles are going to rip. He said with over 13 pounds of baby, that's to be expected. After all this, we said, let's get to the point.....when are these babies coming out?? The Dr. said he wants me to hang on for two more weeks. He said it's possible I could go a little longer, but at the rate they are growing, it's not likely. So I suppose only time will tell! We go back next Monday to get checked out. In the mean time, Scotty continues to finish up things around the house and I continue to spend my days laying on the couch. It's actually starting to look like we are ready for some babies! Very exciting!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Because I can't go anywhere, my parents came to us and made Thanksgiving dinner at our house. It was a nice change of pace to spend the day laying on the couch instead of in the bedroom! Little things excite me these days!

29 weeks

Well, after some stress and a sleepless night I went back to the Dr. this morning. I was very nervous he was going to put me back in the hospital, but I got to come back home! Yipee! And I don't go back to the Dr. for 2 weeks. I am still on strict bedrest and the bedsores are forming (haha) but I have had lots of great visitors and people taking care of me! Thank you so much! The babies look great and are still growing ahead of schedule. They are big time movers and shakers in my belly....I suppose it's a sign of what's to come. I haven't been having too many contractions, and I'm feeling pretty good and large. Scotty is sorting through all the baby stuff and it's coming together! Very exciting! My sweet mom has taken on shaving duty because I can't be in the shower that long and it's too hard to bend down and reach my legs. That's what moms are for!

Quite the week....

Well, most of you probably heard, but we had quite the eventful week last week. We went in for a dr. appt and ended up being sent to the hospital b/c my cervix was too short. Within an hour of being in the hospital, I started having contractions and had dilated to a 2. They tried 2 medicines, both didnt work and put me on magnesium and steroid shots to make the boys lungs develop quicker in case they had to take them out. I had to stay in the hospital for a week, being monitored and seeing if they could wean me off of the mag. Sorry no pictures, but it wasn't pretty. It worked, so I came home yesterday will a basket fulll of meds to keep these boys calm in there! I am on strict bedrest, which means only getting up to use the bathroom and short showers. Good news is today we are on week 28 and the boys are growing a few weeks ahead of schedule. Baby A, the lowest, is 4 lbs, and B and C are 3 lbs each. Our goal is now to make it to 32 weeks. We have weekly appts to get checked, and Scotty is doing a great job taking care of me and everything around the house. Thanks to everyone for all the phone calls and kind thoughts, we feel really loved! I will keep you updated!

Week 25....CAUGHT

I walked into our extra room last night and saw Scotty sorting through our baby stuff...."trying" it all out. He dressed a bear in some baby clothes and proceeded to put in in a baby bjorn and carry it around, he practiced using the car seat, and then a swing. Very sweet.....daddy in training.

Week 24

We made it to the big 24! I wasn't sure why exactly this was a big week, but we went to the Dr. today and he said the babies are "viable" as in, they could be born now and have a high survival rate. We have "mini goals" now. We want to make it to 28 weeks, then 30, then 32, and then they could be born any time after 32 weeks. Everything still looks good. My cervix is at 3.98, and anything over 3.5 is good. He had me push down on the top of my belly and I think Scotty almost had a heart attack thinking I was going to push one of the babies out. Baby C was very photogenic (he must take after his mother...haha) He was smiling for the camera and moving his tongue around, it was really neat to see! Baby B barely stays still and Baby A is very mellow. I think A is the most squished, so he doesn't have much of a choice! They all weight about 1.75 pounds. My movement is now on a "very limited" basis. I can take walks as long as someone is with me. So far so good! Let's hope this continues!

Week 23

Well, I'm on week 23, and into my last week of work. I worked one full week when I tracked back on, and I am now doing half days this week. My long term sub is doing the mornings, and I am doing the afternoons. I am actually really exhuasted working just 3 hours! What a turn around. I still feel fine, just exhausted when up for too long. The Dr. now has me on bedrest 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. As of now, I have gained 33 pounds. WOW! It's for a good cause though. That means our boys are getting bigger and stronger! Right now Baby A and C are each 1.7 pounds and Baby B is 1.6. They are developing as they should be and everything looks good so far. The babies are officially moving around like crazy. I don't think I eve got to that "butterfly" sensation, I think we went straight to kicking me in the belly. I can feel it really strong from the outside. It's weird because it comes from all over. One side, then all the way on the other. I think they are already fighting!

NURSERY

YEAH!!! We have a nursery in the making, and even better....ALL 3 CRIBS FIT!!! There is even walking space in the room! Scotty has been working really hard on everything, and we are so excited with how it is turning out. Our theme is "Sports" (shocking, I know) and the colors are navy, tan, maroon, green. So cute!

Week 16

We are venturing into the 5th month of this pregnancy. I have to say I am still feeling great. My back hurts once in awhile, but it's tolerable. I need to say all the good things now, so when I'm in the end, I can come and look back at how easy the beginning of this adventure was. I have been doing fine at school, but I am also off track right now :) When I go back on track, I hope to stay for 2 weeks, but my Dr. wants me to be done after 1 week. It's hard to go from the working world to just being a couch potato, but everyone says to enjoy it while it lasts. The dr. says everything is still looking good. The babies are about 8 inches long and are all in separate sacks, so they are franternal. I informed him my goal is to carry these babies until 39 weeks, and he laughed at me! Claims I will be "crying and begging them to take the babies out" by week 32. Yikes! Fortunately, I am very competative, and that sounds like a challenge!

Week 13

We went in for out first appointment with the High Risk Dr. We both really like him. He asked if we would want to know what the genders were if he could see it, and we said YES!!! He said 2 boys and 1 girl, but a couple appointments later it turned into all 3 boys! Three little Scottys running around can be frightening or very cute....we'll see which way it goes. I think I have convinced him now we can try for the girl later down the line! Ha! We are both very excited and now we can start planning and decorating! Yeah!

Week 8

So far so good. I am feeling great. No morning sickness at all, which I am very happy about. We were going to wait to tell people the big news, but it's hard to keep it secret, so we spilled the beans. The shock value alone is the best part. I have turned into a bottomless pit....just can't get enough food. Scotty said he will be losing weight because he's afraid to reach into the fridge for fear of me biting his arm off. Well??? I can't say it won't happen!

JUNE

This is just about the beginning. I found out I was pregnant.....naturally Scotty did not believe me! He had to take his own pregnancy test, and proceeded to "pee on a stick" to see if it was really true. We can all guess how that one turned out. Needless to say, mine was right :) My first appointment was June 26th, when we found out the big news....TRIPLETS! They started to look around in case there were any more...yikes. Scotty rocked back and forth in his chair and I just couldn't stop laughing.
